The Maritime Safety Committee, at its seventy-first session (19 to 28 May 1999), noting the need for Administrations and industry to be provided with guidance on the preparation of loading and stability manuals, using a uniform layout as well as agreed terms, abbreviations and symbols which are important for the correct use of such manuals by mariners, approved the Model Loading and Stability Manual set out in the annex.
